Anooshka Zakarian and Ani Lalazarian, began their journey as founders of the LOV Project after a life changing trip to India in 2011. With diverse backgrounds in fashion as designers, buyers, and merchandisers this duo united their talents to create a brand with purpose and meaning. We love the chic effortless style of their silk caftans, ponchos and wraps. Take a look into their world and then toss on a caftan.
How would you describe your brand?
LOV PROJECT is a boho chic resort wear line made for a woman who loves to travel. Our silks are all hand made and naturally dyed in India by impoverished and physically disabled artisans. We believe that it is very important to know where your product is coming from and to be able to give opportunities to the less fortunate. Our beautiful silks are then imported to the U.S. where garments are designed and made with love.
What’s your story? How did you start your business?
LOV PROJECT started when we traveled to India in 2011. Blind faith brought us to this inspiring vocational center who we partnered up with to create our gorgeous silks. Both Anooshka and myself having been in the fashion industry for over 15 years decided that we wanted to start something with more meaning and at the same time desirable and wearable.
What inspires you?
We are always inspired by 70’s vintage glam photo shoots and moods. Brands that are influential in their timeless pieces and effortlessly chic bodies. Travel is what defines our collection. Our entire brand is targeted to consumers who love to travel.
What is on the horizon for the LOV Project?
As the collection grows we are inspired to get into home accessories and bags.
