What creative ventures are you working on at the moment?

I am working with our small team on the early stages of our Winter 13 collection ? it is always an inspiring time when establishing the spirit of the new season.

 

 

What are your three favorite off-the-beaten-track stores in the world?

Galignani on Rue du Rivoli in Paris for books, The Gem Palace for antique Indian jewelry in Jaipur India New Delhi, Angelucci 20^th Century in Melbourne for turn of the century Australian hand crafted furniture.

 

How would you describe the signature style of the modern woman?

A woman who has her own sense of style and is not dictated to by the passing fads of fashion.  She does not let the clothes wear her so to speak but instead lets them project her own self confidently. She is not afraid to have fun with her way of dressing without it feeling forced or unnatural.

 

 

 

 

What is your favorite vacation destination? Where do you stay when there?

Ubud in Bali when staying at The Four Seasons which is an intimate resort overlooking the rainforest from your own personal infinity pool.

 

How would you describe your personal style?

Relaxed, eclectic and perhaps with a nod to the bohemian earth mother spirit ? but hopefully a stylish one.

 

 

 

 

Do you have any tricks or secrets for traveling in style?

Carrying a sachet of Santa Maria Novella potpourri from Firenze, it brings the scent I love to each new destination when I unpack it from my suitcase.

 

What are three things you have to bring every time you travel (aside from necessities like phone, wallet, passport, etc.)?

My divine shahtoosh shawl that I bought for myself when I knew I was pregnant with my twins ? I feel protected in it, paw paw ointment ? I think every Aussie girl keeps this in her bag, my little red Muji notebooks that are in constant use for inspirational ideas.

 

 

 

What city has the best nightlife? What is your favorite spot to visit when there?

London will always be my city of choice as I get to hang with my best friends in the East End. I lived there for many years but am now happy just to dip into it very occasionally when I am back there as for me nightlife is more about enjoying good food and wine these days than my wilder earlier days.

 

 

 

 

What are two things every woman should have in her wardrobe?

A Shahtoosh shawl for cold nights, a cotton Indian kurta for comfort

What is the best shopping find you've ever made while traveling?

My early 19^th Century back painted  Florentine mirror that I bought at Porte de Clignancourt flea market. I will love and treasure it forever.

 

What is your favorite market bazaar to shop at?

Porte de Clignancourt in Paris.

 

 

 

 

What is one destination you've never been to that you're dying to visit?

Bolivia ? I just love the way that the native people dress and would love to see their color and beauty with my own eyes.
