Founded by ex-Parisian fashion stylist Claudia Derain and her husband, Indian engineer Hari Ajwani, Nilaya Hermitage is where glamour and deep relaxation converge.
Celebrated local architect Dean D'Cruz designed the hotel that has been described as an ?exotic mosaic of Mogul domes and Moorish arches, echoes of Arabian Nights, mixed with a bit of Hindu temple." But the most noticeable feature may be the colors that, though vibrant, richly compliment the luxurious repose that characterizes the Nilaya experience.
The saffrons, emeralds, bronzes and blues that illuminate the hotel exude a natural motif, which is reflected in their guest accommodations. Drawing from cosmic inspiration, each room is individually designed with different themes including moon, star, water and air. With 20 acres of lush gardens and a pool embellished with waterfalls, lapis and aquamarine mosaic tiles, Nilaya is the image of tropical luxury. It is no wonder why it draws a posh and international crowd including celebrities such as Kate Moss, Jade Jagger and Peter Lindbergh.
Nilaya Hotel is located in Goa, India?s tiny treasure ? a state defined by its beautiful beaches, hippie vibes and Portuguese influence. The opportunities to experience Goa?s rich culture are endless and we have a few suggestions to guide you on while you travel (or daydream).
