1. Matta
How did you discover it?Walking around Soho, NYC
Why do you think it is cool? I love the mix of home, Ready to wear and jewelry.
What makes it unique? Bohemian but chic and affordable.
What does it carry/what do you buy there? Necklaces and my favorite tops.
2. De Vera
How did you discover it? I found it awhile ago when I was working at Harpers Bazaar. I knew about Federico De Vera while I was living in San Francisco. Think he had a store 20 years ago in both San Fran and LA...
Why do you think it is cool? He is a master of arts and crafts. His shop is like a Joseph Cornell Museum. Cabinet of curiosity of sorts.
What makes it unique? Everything is specially designed by Federico and is uniquely his.
What does it carry/what do you buy there? It has jewelry, table top and furniture. I have a much cherished pair of turqoise earrings.
3. A DETACHER
How did you discover it? My chic friend and fellow L-atitude featured guest, Cathryn Collins (coming soon!). The Designer for A Detcher is called Mona Kowalska.
Why do you think it is cool? I discovered leather goods and clothes that are timeless. I love to stop in, there is always something I want to buy or shoot. I just shot their new clogs for L?officiel magazine.
What makes it unique? They look French, but are designed and manufactured in New York City.
What does it carry/what do you buy there? Clothes, belts, and boots and shoes. She also sells special product.
4. Dover Street Market.
How did you discover it? Cameron Silver, Decades. At the time of its opening, I knew Alber Elbaz for Lanvin had designed special pieces from his collections in white for the store.
Why do you think it is cool? It's curated like a museum. Edited mix of designers no one else sells. I look forward to seeing the special products designed specially for DSM. I love the jewelry, the designers, the clothes, the sales staff and the petite caf?.
What makes it unique? You can buy magazines, clothes you will keep forever and eat good food. Its on the best street in London close to my Bond street Galleries.
What does it carry/what do you buy there? Have bought a lot of Alaia. I just bought a Givenchy black jacket, which I wear with everything!
5. Papier Plus
How did you discover it? I don?t remember, probably exporing and wandering Paris?.
Why do you think it is cool? They carry boxes, albums and notebooks, pencils and note pads in the most beautiful and refined manner. Im old fashioned and love to write things down.
What makes it unique? No one else in the world sells their product. Nobody designs and manufacturers what they do.
What does it carry/what do you buy there? Purple and lavendar notebooks. Photo Albums, desktop boxes, paper, pencils. Paper clips? Everything in my world is a shade of purple.
