Parsons grad Laura Siegel is continually impressing industry mavens with her global approach to design?standouts from her namesake accessories collection include fringed iPad cases, hand knit infinity scarves, and bold statement necklaces. Straddling the line between tribal and boho, her one-of-a-kind wares have recently been showcased in Vogue Italia and Elle Canada.
Expertly trained by international designers Luca Luca, Meghan Park, and Yigal Azrouel, Siegel has undeniably developed a sixth sartorial sense. Yet, aesthetics aren?t the sole focus of her line?she partners with artisans in Asia and Latin America to produce her products, ensuring that her wares are ethically produced. Siegel?s deep relationships with her artisans extend beyond a typical employer-employee connection, as she aims to provide them with steady work and enable them to continue honing their unique craft. For her spring/summer ?13 collection, Siegel worked with artisans based all around the globe?she collaborated with a leather smith in New Delhi to hand stitch her bags into finished pieces, while a group of natural dyers from Peru colored the organic cotton used in much of her line.
We?re currently coveting the label?s Big Tangle Rocks Necklace?twisted cords embellished with assorted beads, it?s an instant outfit-maker. Another favorite? We always throw on Siegel?s Mossy Cowl Scarf when we?re a bit chilly, an always-chic (and functional) addition to any ensemble.
