Sofie Goes Around, an online media platform for creative minds all over the world, covers fashion, design, art, music, traveling, and other fields of contemporary culture and lifestyle. While owner and Creative Director Vlasta Guryeva descends from Russia, she globe trots around the world to find the unfound. Her bold motto of knowing the rules so you can break them has made her chic and creative web site a destination for fantasy escapism and inspiration. We spoke with Vlasta to find out her wardrobe essentials, favorite spots in the world, and some of her most treasured items!

What inspired you to create Sofie Goes Around?
I have always loved poems by Fitzgerald and Hemingway, I am fascinated by their roaring 20's lifestyles. I wanted to find and recreate that "nowness" kind of vibe -- to meet modern heroes, trendsetters, misfits, and highlight their worlds to others. Sofie started traveling to find all those insiders who echo the mood of the city, shaping the community of individuals who think in style and live accordingly.

Describe your personal style.

Mix and match, boho, rock 'n' roll, 20's + 30's + 90's, Bone Tone, Hermes glamour gypsy, vintage McQueen Victorian drama, Harry Winston. But I believe less is always more!

Describe your closet.

My closet is full of skeletons and Saint Laurent.

What are some of your most treasured items?

I love Alaia skirts. They are amazingly handcrafted and true timeless treasures.

What is your favorite item that you have ever been given or purchased while you were traveling?

Well, all items I purchase are carefully cherry picked, and all items given to me are very close to my heart. But as of late, I have a crush on #BunnyFish by Irakli Paris.

What are some of your favorite cities to visit and why?

Paris is always a good idea, I love seeing the Palais-Royal and eating at Monsieur Bleu. New York gives you the right vibe, the cocktails at Orient Express are great. Rome and Venice are perfect for romantic trips, and Berlin is right for hardcore parties.

What are your upcoming travel plans?

I have many! I am going to Spain (Majorca, Barcelona, Ibiza), Latvia (Jurmala), France (Paris, Saint-Tropez, Nice, Monte Carlo, Villefranche, Cap Ferrat), and Italy (Capri).
