Looking back to the glory days of the ?60s and ?70s, the caftan emerged as a major fashion trend. Though it has been worn literally for ages, in Morocco and across Middle Eastern locales, it was not until the late 1960s when fashion guru Diana Vreeland proclaimed her absolute love for this garment that the fashion set followed suit. Who can forget the iconic image of a caftaned Talitha Getty on the rooftops of her Moroccan home or Elizabeth Taylor, honeymooning in one of her favorite caftans. Here is an assemblage of our favorite images of Yves, Catherine, Talitha, Anita, Bianca, and Elizabeth in a garment we hope to see return to its must have place in the bastion of fashion history.
