VIERNES TRADICIONAL Social Initiative

Here is something special we became aware of on our last trip to Mexico. Traditional Fridays is an initiative started by Impacto Textile, an NGO based in Chiapas, Mexico, that is run by Claudia Mu?oz, a talented designer and founder of the label Chamuchic. The purpose of this initiative is to inspire people to take pride in traditional clothing and accessories handcrafted by Mexican artisans and encourage people to embrace the basics of ethical fashion – it would be so great if we all knew "who made my clothes". It's easy to become a member of this community. All you need to do is post a picture of yourself on the social media outlet of your choice wearing Mexican clothes or accessories with the hashtag #viernestradicional!
