In 2010, Joey Wolffer created a new kind of retail store?one on wheels. A former buyer for Topshop in London, Wolffer?s Styleliner?a mobile style gallery?carries of-the-moment clothing and accessories sourced from around the globe. Formerly a potato-chip truck, the Styleliner?s exclusive wares are gaining a stylish following; it has recently parked in NYC, D.C., and the Hamptons. Wolffer dishes about her shopping secrets and most-loved L-ATITUDE pieces below.
1) What are your five favorite shopping destinations around the world?
1. Rellik, London
-How did you discover it? Through designer friends in London
-Why do you think it is cool? Everything, it?s a treasure trove of the most unique vintage finds from designers from all eras.
-What makes it unique? The owners have an incredible eye for vintage finds and their ability to curate it all together is perfect.
-What does it carry/what do you buy there? Vintage jewelry and clothes
2. Narnia, New York
-How did you discover it? It?s on my street and I used to buy there for inspiration when I worked at the Jones Group.
-Why do you think it is cool? The owner/buyer has an incredible eye and mixes consignment from contemporary designers with vintage from luxury brands and pieces from Guatemala.
-What makes it unique? The collection ranges from runway dresses to capes from South and Central America.
-What does it carry/what do you buy there? They have everything from clothes to accessories but I always get great boots and vintage dresses there.
3. Coclico, New York
-How did you discover it? I happened upon it when it opened on Mott St.
-Why do you think it is cool? The best selection of shoes around! They are the queens of wedges and platforms (perfect for tall girls like me).
-What makes it unique? They carry their own brand of beautiful shoes but also other unique, hard-to find-brands, giving you a little bit of everything that you can?t find elsewhere in the shoe department.
-What does it carry/what do you buy there? Brands like Coclico, Chie Mihara, and Rachel Comey.
4. Glam Vintage, Palm Beach
-How did you discover it? Cruising down South Dixie Highway.
-Why do you think it is cool? They have the best vintage jewelry at great prices
-What makes it unique? They have access to great collections that other vintage stores don?t always have!
-What does it carry/what do you buy there? Vintage everything, but I love their jewelry!
5. Gabrielle Geppert, Paris
-How did you discover it? My old boss at Jones introduced me.
-Why do you think it is cool? Gabrielle has been selling her incredible finds to the best of the world?s designers for years. She has some of the most interesting and original pieces.
-What makes it unique? She has vintage pieces you will be pressed to find elsewhere and an eye that can compete with the very best in the industry.
-What does it carry/what do you buy there? Everything from Vintage Chanel to oversized vintage jewelry that never made the runway but was supposed to!
