Bar Oppenheimer at Hotel Americano; Potlikker Film Fest

CHELSEA ? The crazypants space that you see above is a temporary bar that will open inside the Hotel Americano on Saturday. It was designed by German artist Tobias Rehberger as an homage to Bar Oppenheimer, a famous Frankfurt tavern where artists hangout and drink. The official name of the bar/work of art: TOBIAS REHBERGER BAR OPPENHEIMER. The bar was created to coincide with the opening of the Frieze Art Fair, and it will stay open for the next three months. GRAMERCY ? To coincide with the Big Apple Barbecue Block Party, the Southern Foodways Alliance and Union Square Hospitality Group will host aPotlikker Film Festival at Blue Smoke on June 7 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event will feature Southern fare from local and visiting chefs (including Maysville's Kyle Knall and The Ordinary's Mike Lata), plus drinks and a screening of barbecue films by Joe York. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased online.
