Purists will say that summer begins a week from today, on the summer solstice. But, for many of us, summer began over Memorial Day weekend. In fact, we have been daydreaming of sunny days, seaside evenings and summer rentals every since our newest sarongs, caftans and bikini?s arrived in our offices. Here is a list of the dreamiest summer rentals available, all are perfect places to sport our newest fashion arrivals.

The once famously derelict 6000 square foot estate previously owned by Jackie Kennedy?s cousins, Big Edie and Little Edie Bouvier Beale, is now available to rent from Memorial Day until the end of July. 30. A few ears ago, this property was rescued by the Washington Posts? famed editor Benjamin C. Bradlee and his wife Sally Quinn and has since been restored to its original ten-bedroom grandeur. The sprawling grounds, which include a pool and tennis court, are only a 15 minute walk from the beach. The price for renting a house was the star of it's own eponymous film, $125,000.
Price: $125,000 for rental from Memorial Day until the end of July.
Don?t forget to pack a Bungalow 8 printed scarf to tie on your head in honor of Little Edie while you explore the famous gardens.

Eco-lodges and sustainable tourism are becoming more and more popular, but I cannot imagine a better summer wilderness experience than trotting two hours west of Stockholm and staying in a forest hut on Lake Sk?rsj?n. What Kolarbyn lacks in electricity and running water (there is, for the record, no electricity and no running water), it makes up with the floating sauna.
Price: Each forest hut is available for rental at approximately $400 per night, or for all eleven can be rented at $45,790 per month.
Don?t forget to pack an extra blanket for chilly evenings. Why not the From the Road, Saturnina Grey Alpaca Scarf?

For those of us who still have princess fantasies, Chateau de Tourreau is a state of the art, eight bedroom castle in Provence with everything: A full-time chef, concierge and housekeeping crew; sporting courts of all kinds (tennis, squash, basketball, badminton, etc); gardens; an adjoining farm with seven additional rooms; and, importantly, wireless internet.
Price: The castle typically rents for 45,000 Euros a week
Don?t forget to pack your very own crowned jewels, L-atitude Indian Bazaar's, Dhara Necklace!
Riad El Fenn, Marrakesh, Morocco
Even the most experienced souk shoppers get exhausted. An easy solution is to return to your summer rental for a cup of mint tea. Conveniently, this hip boutique riad, located three minutes? walk from Djemaa El Fna square and the surrounding souks.
Price: $500 for luxury private house with pool.
Don?t forget to pack a caftan like this Figue Yellow Amelie Kaftan.

On a 146 acre private island in the South Pacific, fifteen Indonesian-style villas are divided almost equally amongst three villages. When you?re looking for the ultimate escape, it?s possible to go almost completely off the map with a full village rental. Internet is available at an extra charge, but I have a feeling it won?t be necessary.
Price: Rates start at $450 per night for a private beachfront villa.
Don?t forget to pack the perfect swimwear for the occasion, one of Daniela Bustos Maya?s crochet bikinis.
