1. What made you launch Figue?
I?m inspired and have always been inspired by all the amazing places there are in the world. I noticed that there are a lot of like-minded women out there. I had a yearning to share a globally inspired vision.

2. Describe Figue in 3 words.
Eclectic, resort-spirited, global.
3. You work with so many different artisans to create your collections- Can you describe your creative process?
I don?t really have a process in terms of finding artisans; I?m just attracted to beautiful, artisanally-made things.

4. Since you wear so many hats, designer, wife, business owner, can you give us a sense of what a day in your life is like?
The day usually starts with walking the dogs (my 9-year-old and 7-month-old puppy). The gym is key?I try to squeeze that into my week in the mornings whenever I can. It clears my mind. I answer emails and then I try to dedicate the first part of my day to all design-related issues. The afternoon is cleared for meetings, appointments and all other business, including touching base with everybody on the team. I try to wind down by dinner time so I can catch up with my husband and my friends and family.
5. It?s evident that you have a passion for travel. What are some of your favorite cities to visit?
I just got back from Marrakesh, Morocco. I just love all the patterns and colors. It feeds my inspiration. I also love Rome. I?ve been going there since I was a child. I love the spirit of the city, the antiquity and the architecture and all the incredible art. I definitely feel like I was Italian in my past life. The wheels hit the ground, and I think, ?Sono a casa.? I am home.

6. Describe your closet? What are some of your most treasured items?
My closet is overflowing with patterns and colors and treasures from all over the world. I wish it were more organized. I had to build an extension into my bedroom because I never put anything away. I have everything for all seasons out. My scarves and my jewelry are my most treasured? and my John Lobb suede riding boots that I found in a vintage shop in Paris.

7. What are you wardrobe must have?s for when you travel?
I always wear a slip-on shoe that?s easy to take off at security. I?m also obsessed with my No. 6 clog boots, which I wear year-round. I always travel with two pashminas ? one bright, one muted. For the plane, I usually wear a men?s style button-down shirt, my Figue military jacket and black or navy leggings ? just because it?s really comfortable.

8. What are your summer holiday plans?
I?ve just been on a world tour ? India, Sri Lanka, Italy, Morocco. I?m planning to spend some time in Southampton where the Figue Pop-Up Shop is. I definitely need to find a stretch of time to hang out on a beach and clear my mind.
