My favorite things in the world (besides shopping) are authentic travel, exotic animals and Yoga. When my favorite yoga instructor Aline Fernandez mentioned she was partnering with Travel for Conservation to offer a yoga safari in Botswana, I immediately knew this was going to be the trip of a lifetime. How would you describe your personal style?
My personal style is relaxed and practical with a beachy, tropical feeling. I was born and raised in Brazil, then travelled all over the world modeling before settling in NYC.
I believe clothes should be comfortable, sexy and definitely effortless. I'm a big fan of leggings, leotards, sandals and bikinis. Bracelets are my absolute weakness!
How does travel influence your style?
I love picking up little pieces when I travel because every time I wear them it brings back memories of a specific destination. I also love connecting, getting to know local artisans and supporting them.
What city do you have an endless love affair with?
In terms of city I will say NYC because it?s a city of extremes with a variety of culture, tastes, styles and extremely talented people. I also love the island of Kauai, Hawaii. I feel completely at home there. This island nourishes and inspires me.
Can you share top three favorite spots for doing yoga in the world?
My top three places to practice yoga are India, Hawaii and Brazil.
India- There is something mystical in the air, the ancient teachings, the scents, the birds, the weather and the lifestyle make a yoga practice there very special.
Hawaii - I'm a big Hawaii lover. The weather is just amazing for practice and the scent of the flowers like Plumeria (frangipani) is incredible. My favorite island is Kauai, I usually stay In Hanalei. The latest thing I have been loving to do there is to practice yoga when I am salty from the ocean. It makes me feel even more purified and connected to nature.
Brazil - I love to practice in Bahia. Trancoso is great because there are so many stunning villas/ pousadas to stay in. It?s so quiet and relaxing. It's a great place to rest, restore and nourish yourself.
What is your most desirable stamp?
I'll say Bali and Ushuaia, Terra del Fuego - which is far south in South America
Best trip so far?
It?s so hard to pick one! I have had so many great trips!! I'll say my latest trip to Kauai, last summer In Mallorca and few years ago on a motorcycle trip in India top my list. I am sure my yoga safari will be the next trip that goes on this list.
Always in your suitcase?
Lots of bikinis, sarongs, leggings, white clothes (especially dresses), flip flops, a hat , a book and sunscreen.
Most beloved souvenir ?
Sarongs and bed sheets from India. Years later they still have a particular Indian scent.
Favorite shop, market or souk?
I'm crazy about the Anjuna market in Goa, India and I Love Hanalei in Hanalei Hawaii - they have everything you need for a beach-surf lifestyle.
Ultimate escape fantasy?
I would love to go on a road trip across South America From Brasil to Uruguay, Argentina and Chile.
